Foreign productions that choose Spain for its unique and varied locations, its moderate weather throughout the year or its professionals of recognized prestige, also benefit from interesting tax incentives and grants.
There is a 20% tax reduction for foreign productions (feature films, series, animation and documentaries) that meet the following requirements:
Beneficiaries: Spanish companies (such as executive production or "service") registered in the audiovisual producers registry of the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts.
Procedure: Reimbursement requested by the Spanish company, in the month of July of the year following the end of the filming
Expenses made in Spanish territory: Minimum 1 million euros.
Maximum return limit: 3 million euros.
The amount of this deduction, together with the rest of the payments received by the taxpayer, may not exceed 50% of the production cost
Expenses of the creative production team (fiscal residence in Spain or in another member state of the European Union) up to a limit of € 100,000 / person / technical and supporting services.
