Gavarda, Valencia

Iron bridge

The Iron Bridge of the Xúquer (Pont de ferro del Xúquer) was built at the beginning of the 20th century (1917) on the N-340 road between Gavarda and Beneixida.

The bridge is 137 metres long and it has a 70 metres long iron arch. The bowstring beam, 70 m span, is one of the five metal sections that make up the 137-metre-long bridge. The other four metal sections are straight cross beams and are located on the left bank of the bridge. Restoration work was completed in 1993.
