Los Altos Medieval Quarter
This neighbourhood is the oldest in the town, comprising the streets that made up the old town and was surrounded by a wall with its corresponding moat, whose length was from eight to nine hundred metres and its height from five to six. The wall had three access gates: the Portal del Peso, the Portal de Santa Lucia or Santa Ana and the Portal de Palaz or del Agujero. The Castle itself had another access gate: the False Gate, which was used exclusively by its owners.
This old medieval quarter is characterised by its narrow, winding streets. The houses that make up the neighbourhood are painted in the colours white and indigo blue, which were used in the past.
